Rejuvenation treatments for a beautiful décolletage

UV exposure is, as we know, one of the major culprits in skin aging. The skin of the décolleté is thin and has little subcutaneous fat, which also explains why fine lines appear quickly. Despite the fact that the décolleté is often visible, we often forget to include it in our daily skincare routine, which is a shame!

Ideally, you should treat your décolleté daily in the same way you treat your face (and neck!). Cleanse, apply a serum with a high concentration of antioxidants (such as the Professional-C Serum from Obagi Medical), and then use a high SPF moisturizer. This last step is extremely important but rarely done. In the evening, you might choose to use a cream with vitamin A acid. The most effective ones are only available by prescription, but there are also very good cosmeceuticals—cosmetic products with a medical edge, like those from Obagi or Skinceuticals. And when you go to bed with this cream on your chest, lie on your back and keep that position until the next morning. Seriously: your sleeping position really does affect the skin on your décolleté. You may have heard of the term “devil’s fountain,” referring to the vertical lines on the décolleté caused by sleeping on your side.

Rejuvenating the décolletage: the options

1

Profhilo Body

You could start by giving your décolleté a boost with Profhilo Body, with 2 to 3 treatments in a row spaced a month apart. Profhilo is a biostimulator that stimulates your own collagen and elastin. This can be repeated occasionally to maintain the effect.
2

Sculptra

If your décolleté has signs of sun damage or aging, and the quality of your elastin and connective tissue has declined, consider Sculptra. This powerful biostimulator requires multiple treatments, depending on your age and skin condition, but the effects can last up to 2 years.
3

Forever Young BBL

Sun-damaged skin often shows reduced elasticity, thin connective tissue, and pigment spots. BBL treatment can effectively address these issues by reducing pigment spots and enhancing cellular rejuvenation. Opting for a full BBL course will help rejuvenate your skin on a cellular level and improve its appearance significantly—up to 10 years’ worth of difference between a pigmented and non-pigmented décolleté.
4

CO2 Laser

I find the CO2 laser less ideal for the décolleté due to the risk of pigment changes, which can sometimes result in white spots. A very gentle setting can minimize this risk, but it may also lead to a less noticeable result.
5

Microneedling

Microneedling is also a nice treatment for stimulating the skin of the décolleté. This method uses tiny, sterile needles to create thousands of microchannels in the skin, which helps kickstart the natural healing process and boost collagen production. It’s suitable for preventing fine lines or addressing very mild ones.
6

Morpheus8

For existing wrinkles, I recommend Morpheus8. This treatment combines deep microneedling with radiofrequency energy, providing a powerful effect that stimulates the deeper layers of connective tissue for more significant improvement.
