Morpheus8 is a skin rejuvenation treatment combining microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. Morpheus8 is similar to standard microneedling, but instead of just using small needles to prick the skin, this device also adds radiofrequency energy. Due to Morpheus8’s ability to penetrate much deeper with its needles and its combination with RF, it delivers superior results compared to traditional microneedling treatments. With this new technique, we can apply skin improvement to both the face, neck, and the rest of the body.

Morpheus8 uses tiny needles and radiofrequency energy (heat). These needles penetrate deep into the layers of the skin and, if necessary, even into the fatty tissue. Through the needles, RF energy is transmitted deep into the skin. This process creates tiny wounds that trigger the body’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and accelerating cell renewal. This leads to skin remodeling and tightening. The radiofrequency energy also induces controlled heating of the tissue, further stimulating collagen and elastin production. Altogether, this natural anti-aging process results in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

When to use Morpheus8?

How does the treatment work?

Prior to the treatment, the skin is numbed with a cream, which takes about 1 hour. A special single-use sterile tip with needles is attached to the Morpheus8 handpiece. Depending on the area being treated, the depth of the needles and the amount of RF energy are adjusted. The needles and the radiofrequency energy penetrate the skin, creating small holes in the skin. Your skin may be red and warm after the treatment, which can last for several days. Due to the small holes created in the skin, sometimes tiny scabs may form after the treatment, and bruising may occur near the eyes, but these usually disappear quickly. Sometimes, you may see tiny dots from the needles for a few days after the treatment. After a treatment on the abdomen or legs, these dots may be visible for a few weeks, but they eventually disappear without a trace.

Immediately after the treatment, you may want to cool the skin, but I advise against it: after all, the heat is a significant part of the treatment and contributes to the effect. You can apply a hydrophilic cream. Avoid using oily creams during the first week after the treatment to prevent pimples. If desired, you can use a concealing cream after 1 to 2 days; we will discuss which ones are suitable for you. Three treatments, with intervals of four to six weeks, are needed for optimal results.

Result

The effect of the treatment is “permanent,” but the natural aging process continues. Collagen will decrease over the years, causing the skin to sag again. To prevent the aging process, you may choose to undergo a Morpheus8 treatment annually.
